It never happened to me that something is inconceivable; it was inevitable. I am not, at this point scared of challenges. I realize that the main thing of significance is to keep an inspirational viewpoint, and simply like the day I hopped the hole with my bicycle, I won't be scared yet rather to endeavor, with persistence, generally advantageous.

Concept of Health and Wellness-Free-Samples-Myassignmenthelp

Question: Examine about the Biopysochosocial Factors that effect on Health and Wellbeing. Answer: Wellbeing and health alludes to the condition of being in ideal mental and wellbeing. This paper clarifies the idea of wellbeing and health, decide the biopysochosocial factors that effect on wellbeing and prosperity, portray the delineations of biopsychosocial, psycosocial factors which will adding to the ailment. The examination likewise ponders the social, general, and psychological reaction of an individual identifying with wellbeing and health issues. The primary point of this paper is to feature the biopsychosocial factors that will affect on the wellbeing and prosperity of a person. As per Edlin Golanty (2012), the idea of wellbeing might be characterized as a state of the entire physical, mental, social flourishing and not simply the nonappearance of ailment or ailment. In short words, it might be characterized by the vast majority of the individuals as a being liberated from appearances of illness and agony however much as could reasonably be expected, having the ability to be dynamic and ready to do what they need or wellbeing suggest the condition of being in perfect mental and physical success. On the opposite side, the idea of wellbeing is portrayed as a coordinated procedure for working which is organized towards boosting the ability of which the individual is capable. Wellbeing necessitates that the individual keep up a persistent parity and significant direction inside the earth where the person is performing. As indicated by Sterling et al. (2010), the sickness allude to a particular irregular express that effects part or the entirety of a living being not hurt by outside power and that involves a confusion of a structure. As it were, we can say that malady requires unique patient training for restoration and long haul of care and backing to the patient. The idea of ailment alludes to a significantly singular state where people feels unfortunate, could conceivably related to the illness. As per Sarafino Smith (2014), the biopsychosocial model is a wide view that credits sickness result to the diserse, variable association of natural components, for example, hereditary, biochemical, etc. In spite of the way that advances have been made in deciding associations between natural components, mental, and social methodology, the greatest limit of the biopsychosocial model for wellbeing brain research remains undiscovered in differs estimations. We can characterized the ID of the four zones that are estimated in biopsychosocial factors and affect wellbeing and health are natural, mental, social, and full scale social factors. The organic parts of wellbeing consolidate factors, for example, inherited characteristics or family ancestry, age, sex, and existing ailments (Falvo, 2013). All these organic sections obviously influence the wellbeing and health of the person. There are mental components that affect the clinical flourishing. Managing the psychological well-being can em phatically influence on the clinical wellbeing of the person. As I would see it, the other segment of a biopsychosocial factor is conduct which consolidate practices people includes in that add to wellbeing, for example, smoking, greasy eating routine, stationary way of life, adherence to pharmaceuticals and going to see restorative administrations specialists every day. As individual customary practices straightforwardly influence the soundness of individual and health. Many major relentless ailments originate from or are exacerbated by choices that we make every day. The last ecological component additionally has a huge impact in the general wellbeing. This factor can have a protective effect in that it is identified with acceptable mental and clinical wellbeing, helps with speedier recuperation from the disease, and empowers us to remain more advantageous notwithstanding stress (Pollack et al., 2010). The biopsychosocial wellbeing evidence that a viably solid the resistant framew ork and gives mediation and avoidance techniques for an incessant illness to us. As I would see it, a person's prosperity can't just be seen from a characteristic point of view that is mental, social, and contributing natural factors additionally impacts a person's life. The reason that these subsystems are layered inside one another and indivisibly associated has results in an imaginative manner to regulate at wellbeing and prosperity. Wellbeing is for the most part compared to the nonappearance of illnesses. The case of mental variables is wretchedness or tension issues, stress and antagonistic vibe. Coronary illness and stress is likewise a case of mental elements that add to hypertension, cholesterol levels, blood clusters in the strength of us. The case of conduct factors incorporates the day by day exercises of our practices that influence the wellbeing, for example, smoking, dormant way of life. The case of natural variables includes the hereditary issues or the ailments existed in our families. The last natural factor incorporates work pressure, causation , and outcomes (Weaver III et al., 2010). Consequently, we can say that pressure is main considerations which become influence the psychological and clinical soundness of us. Psychosocial factors, for instance, stress, battle, sorrow, direness, and business control look related with physical prosperity (Matthews et al., 2010). Psychosocial factors incorporate pressure, sorrow, undermining vibe, and work control seem associated with our physical wellbeing explicitly for coronary illness patients. These psychosocial factors are the significant reasons of wellbeing disparities. Such components include different states of mind, mental attributes, or parts of the social condition with a negative ramifications. The psychosocial trouble may cause physical ailment. It could empower the undesirable conduct of an individual, for example, smoking or it could lead explicitly to neuroendocrine irritations that sway illness chance. As indicated by Hill Fritz (2011), the relations of a surprising motivation to wellbeing results dependent on the previous associations with a central ailment. Consequently, we can say that psychosocial distress could cause extended infectio ns chance in conditions where psychosocial affliction was emphatically associated with smoking. Such associations are not in the slightest degree modified. In this situation, we could unequivocally be fought that smoking was recognized by unfriendly psychosocial profiles among smokers, or to make certain by social constraints. What's more, basically, in places and now and again when smoking was among the socially advantaged the results of smoking indicated a practically identical social dissemination. Therefore, we can uncover that this instance of psychosocial factors is considered as the central supporters of individual affliction. The state of wellbeing and health needs more than helpful treatment and measures for the clinical issues (Cooper Quick, 2017). As we would see it, the general reaction to wellbeing and health issues is to give the different choices so as to keep up our life sound by giving physical activities and sustenance which demonstrates that physical action can help forestall or concede certain ailments, including a few malignant growths, heart disease, diabetes, and furthermore alleviate sorrow and upgrade demeanor. It is basic for us compelling developing to eat food wealthy in supplements and overlook the vacant calories in candy and desserts. The other wellbeing and health issue is overweight and weight. Being overweight or large forms the odds of passing on from hypertension, sort two diabetes, coronary sickness, stroke, gallbladder affliction, respiratory issues, and colon diseases. The third medical problems are substance misuse which ordinarily suggests drugs and alcohol. These are two territories are frequently partner with seniors, adolescents may self-fix utilizing real and illicit drugs and liquor, which can provoke us to cause genuine wellbeing results. What's more, seniors may deliberately or coincidentally mix arrangements and use alcohol. There are a few practices that apply a solid effect on our wellbeing are taken as conduct reaction, for example, tobacco, liquor usage, physical activity and eating routine, sexual practices, and illness screening (Renalds et al., 2010). There is wide attestation in the general prosperity and helpful social occasions that cigarette smoking is the best outside supporter of death in the United States. Passing inferable from tobacco utilizing have been found to surpass passings from AIDS, auto collisions, self destruction, wrongdoing, fire, and utilizing illicit medications joined. Since there is long deferral between the beginning of defending smoking and the full difference in its undermining prosperity happens, current tobacco inferable mortality and dismalness are results of smoking that started quite a while back. On the contrary side, we consider that pressure has given a significant relationship in clarifying the social components that impact physical prosperity. As indicated by Bockting etbal., (2013), stress the two causes and directs a conduct average assortment which can extend assurance from ailment or cause hurt and thusly push illness. For instance, push related hormones, for instance, cortisol and epinephrine have protective and flexible limits and furthermore hurt effects. The intellectual brain science looks at the psychological technique of a person. The psychological reaction extending the repeat of concerns with respect to memory and subjective developing in day by day care. The doctor has analyzed that practices and mentalities with respect to prompting patients about intellectual developing and lessening the dangers for subjective hindrance or dementia. Restorative administrations experts ignore watching out for avoidance and hazard diminishment concerning psychological weakness and dementia in clinical practice as a test (Exner-Cortens et al., 2013). Similar to the circumstance with tending insurance in every day care for various conditions, the significant impediment consolidates a nonappearance of reimbursement and finding adequate chance to address both conduct controlling and patients medical problems. These individuals are introduced in Court and are now and then rebuffed or sent to clinical offices to diminish their enslavement. This report is made to examine the way that Drug Courts are not that viable towards the Drug adductors as far as the soundness of members, equity, and so forth. How Drug Courts s are not compelling Drug Courts s in NSW held up a dynamic option in contrast to imprisonment for the medication wrongdoings, be that as it may, they don't diminish criminal equity associated with reality they really make the framework progressively corrective towards the chronic drug use as far as medication guilty parties. They likewise raise the noteworthy established and security concerns (Mitchell et al. 2012). So as to continue with the procedure, the members need to sign a waiver which makes them consistence to share the clinical data identified with substance misuse treatment to all the individuals that are engaged with the Drug Courts group. Medication Courts not viable as far as wellbeing Medication Courts s in NSW gives the members the administration that they need yet they regularly neglect to satisfy their guarantees. They deficiently get to the necessities of individuals and spot them with wrong treatment (McPherson and Sauder 2013). In addition, in a treatment setting, the backslide is likewise met with different concentrated administrations, in any case, in the Drug Courts setting it is met with the brief or perpetual evacuation of the administrations which is exceptionally destructive to the soundness of the members. Medication Courts not compelling respects to cost So as to partake in the Drug Courts, it turns out to be exorbitant for the members who have spent a great deal to go to the Courts and furthermore recruit a legal advisor to speak to those (Sheidow et al. 2012). The medication (Opioid) cost enslavement investment funds for the members in NSW depend on the accepted decreases regarding the pre-preliminary confinement and recidivism however it is hazy to what degree. Regardless of whether a portion of the medication (Opioid) cost fixation investment funds are started in the pre-preliminary, these reserve funds don't make a difference when the program cost is represented which are constantly ignored. The expense incorporates the medication test, imprisonment for detoxification, net augmenting, and so on. Medication Courts not successful in management of interest The Drug Courts probably won't be powerful as far as oversight as the observing is done yet it isn't so visit. There is no alternative for the evaluating for the medication guilty parties in NSW as after the equity of Court, everything is left for the outsiders to screen (Bruns et al. 2012). In a portion of the cases, because of poor treatment, individuals have been found to create genuine sickness as the court restricts the preliminary of new sort of meds to diminish this dependence and proceed with standard medications which some of the time isn't viable. Medication Courts not viable in impacting different states Because of the different entanglements of the Drug Courts s regarding the lack of quality, less fruitful results, constrained access towards medications, increment in costs, open security and some more, different states don't think that its suitable to take endeavors so as to set-up an extraordinary court like NSW accomplished for the medication guilty parties (Messina et al. 2012). The states should set down various strategies particularly for the Drug Courts, discover the appointed authorities, set up structures for the equity which isn't yet successful. Medication Courts not viable in multi-disciplinary collaboration The Drug Courts so as to give appropriate equity and handle a case require the investment from the various gatherings like the administration, nearby police, members, specialist, clinical group, attorneys, and so on. Be that as it may, the cooperation between every one of them in NSW isn't yet settled and nobody knows about their precise obligation if the case shows up (Alarid et al. 2012). Medication Courts not powerful in halting re-irritating It has likewise been examined that the Drug Courts s at NSW are not effective in halting the guilty parties to re-outrage (Guastaferro 2012). When the discipline is given, there is no oversight as far as the observing the treatment or to check whether the guilty party is really taking the meds to diminish the chronic drug use. Once in a while, guilty parties get discharged soon and begin utilizing the medications once more. I Spare Miss Watsons Jim - Literature Essay Samples

But you knowed he was running for his freedom, and you could a paddled ashore and told somebody (Twain 95). As is epitomized by the preceding quote, in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain one of the central conflicts is that of the character of Hucks battle with his conscience in regard to the question of slavery. Throughout the novel the author slowly changes Hucks mind about the ethics of slavery by introducing him into situations where black people are taken out of their stereotypical roles. To a great extent, Hucks revelations about slavery are due to his friendship with Jim, a runaway slave who used to belong to Miss Watson, the Widow Douglas sister. As a young boy, Huck does not have all the prejudices of the older members of the Southern community, yet he does know that aiding a runaway slave is legally wrong. Thus, it is a pivotal moment indeed when Huck first discovers Jim on Jackson Island, as his decision to spare Jim drastically changes the direction in whic h the novel is proceeding and sets the stage for much of Hucks maturation and development as a character. After having staged his own death Huck goes to Jackson Island to lie low for a while. When he stumbles upon a smoking campfire he is afraid, but the next day he goes to find out whom his mysterious neighbor is, and encounters Jim. Admitting to be a runaway after having been reassured that Huck was not a ghost, Jim recounts the tale of how he had to flee to escape being sold down South by Miss Watson. It is at this point when the reader first sees Jim as more of a three-dimensional character, rather than the big black buck who thought he had been ridden around the world by witches when Tom Sawyer played a prank on him. This is because one can empathize with the fact that Jim does not want to split his family up, although at the same time he take pride in the fact that he is worth $800.Upon his discovery of Jim, Huck is immediately faced with the responsibility of protecting Jim. A s he is a runaway himself, it could be argued that Huck could not turn Jim in without risk of exposing himself. However, it is more logical to argue that the main reason Huck spares Jim when he first comes across him is that he hungers for human companionship. Throughout the first few chapters the readers impression of Huck is as an extremely self-reliant character. Yet, he often complains that he is lonesome, as well a young boy left to his own devices would be. Jim is a part of his old, safe home with the Widow Douglas, one that Huck can bring with him as he embarks upon his adventures. Although Jim is extremely superstitious and illogical, he also has some practical skills. For example, when Jim sees some young birds flying strangely he warns that there will be rain, and lo and behold, a torrential downpour which would have soaked them to the skin if they had not taken shelter in a cave arrives. In this way Jim starts to become somewhat of a father figure; definitely a better fat her for Huck than that embodied by Pap.The strength of character that allows Huck to harbor Jim is tested continually during the course of their travels. At first Huck acts as master and Jim as servant in their relationship, as they have apparently continued their societal roles even in isolation from society. This probably makes Huck feel important, as he has never had a slave of his own. At this juncture in the novel Huck is not yet willing to make big sacrifices for Jim as is shown later on in the Walter Scott incident as well as when they are lost in the fog. As the story progresses though, Jim and Huck face many conflicts together and so the gap between them grows narrower. However, even as friends, it is clear that Hucks relationship with Jim is very different from the one he has with Tom Sawyer. While Tom is a playmate and Huck allows himself to become a follower and to participate in wild fantasies, Jim is a person who will actually take care of him. Jims steadfast loyalty t o Huck at first could be interpreted as mainly for protection, but in the end a bond of love has grown between them. This bond is what convinces Huck to say, all right, Ill go to Hell, when he tears up the letter that he has written to Miss Watson. Thus, as a result of his first decision to make a companion of Jim in chapter seven, a paradigm shift of moral values from what society deems is correct to what Huck in his heart knows is the right path has been effected.

Structuring and Strategizing your MCAT Studying Phase4

Concluding Notes pssst...this is part of a series. Read the first and the second post! Now that you have made your super study guide (applause all around), we want to review it but also begin to focus more heavily on practice passages. Just to reiterate, at this point we are in the Period B of studying (see Phase 1 article if confused). We have reviewed all of our content and are now trying to make sure we can recall it. As time ticks down and the MCAT date approaches, we want to be continuously adjusting our daily study schedule. See the diagram below for a less-wordy explanation (yay diagrams!). As my beautiful diagram so clearly depicts, you want to taper your content review and increase the time spent working with practice passages as time progresses. You might be thinking, â€Å"but the more content I know the more prepared I will be!† In some sense, that’s obviously true. However, the relative benefits of completing practice passages HEAVILY outweighs the benefits of looking over the study guide as you approach your MCAT date. As I mentioned, the real AAMC MCAT is very VERY focused on testing problem solving. As you near the real MCAT, you want to have had as many chances as possible to work through passages. During Period B, you also want to up the number of practice MCAT exams you’re taking to one a week. It seems like a lot but believe me, this is what helped me make my biggest gains. More practice with passages allows you to understand how to anticipate questions, quickly process material, and more effectively dissect passages. Content review wil l not be as helpful for this! To really drive home my point, let me tell you a quick anecdote. Around the second week of Period B, I really felt like I was on a role. I was cramming a ton of material from my study guide and feeling great. I was scheduled to take a practice exam on one Friday, so the Thursday night before it I thought I’d give myself a helpful boost and spend 2 hours after dinner reviewing my study guide rather than just watching tv. MISTAKE. After I finished my practice exam the next day, I had actually gone down a couple points. I could recall the content super well, but I was mentally fatigued and had some trouble problem solving. The next week, I had dinner on Thursday and spent the rest of the night relaxing. No surprise, I scored much higher on that exam than ever before. So, here is the takeaway lesson – content is super important, know as much as you can, but there comes a point of diminishing returns and where a rested brain is more beneficial. As you progress through Period B, review your study guide, but switch your focus to becoming an expert on working through passages. Similar to reading the textbooks, you also want to be sure you are working on passages from each MCAT section rather than overloading one (i.e. CARS) for too long. Concluding Notes Content is very important, there is no doubt about that. However, I would weight equally the ability to understand the test and how to effectively dissect it. The only way to increase your skills at the latter is practice. Honestly, I found taking practice passages to be fun (yeah, I said it)! You not only prep yourself for the MCAT, but you also learn useless things you can use to impress your friends from each passage (like how fire detectors work!). Have some fun with the passages, it’s your opportunity to show how much you have stored in that big brain of yours! Next, in Phase 5 (sadly our second to last article), I will discuss the importance of switching over to exclusively using AAMC practice material, and when to make the switch. Get excited, people!!!

Government and health officials observe the day, often with speeches or forums on the AIDS topics. Since 1995, the President of the United States has made an official proclamation on World AIDS Day. Governments of other nations have followed suit and issued similar announcements. AIDS has killed more than 25 million people between 1981 and 2007,[1] and an estimated 33.2 million people worldwide live with HIV as of 2007,[2] making it one of the most destructive epidemics in recorded history. Why We Dont Read Reasons and Solutions

Studies conducted by the National Endowment for the Arts show that Americans, in general, dont read much literature. The question is, Why not? There are lots of excuses people give as the reasons why they havent picked up a good book in months—or even years. Fortunately, for every one of them, theres often a solution. Excuse #1: I Dont Have Time Think you just dont have the time to pick up a classic? Take a book with you everywhere and instead of picking up your cell phone, open the book—or e-reader. You can read while standing line, in waiting rooms, or during a train commute. If longer works seem overwhelming, start with short stories or poetry. Its all about feeding your mind—even if its only one bit at a time. Excuse #2: Books Are Expensive While it may be true that owning books was once considered a luxury, these days there are numerous sources for inexpensive literature. The Internet has opened a whole new arena for readers. Literature, both old and new, is available on your handheld device for free or deeply discounted prices. Of course, the most time-honored method for getting access to books of pretty much every description at little or no cost is your local public library. You can pick and choose without having to purchase. You can borrow the books and read them at home or read them on the premises, and with the exception of late fees or damages, its usually free. The bargain section of your local brick and mortar bookstore is another place to find reasonably priced books. Some places dont mind if you read while youre sitting in the store in one of their comfortable chairs. Another great resource for inexpensive books is your local used bookstore. You buy books cheaper used than new, and you can also trade in books youve already read—or books you know youll never get around to reading. Some of the major discount retail chains have book sections that sell remaindered books on the cheap. (Remaindered books are new books. Theyre just the excess copies left over when a publisher orders too many for a print run.) Excuse #3: I Dont Know What to Read The best way to learn what to read is by reading everything you can get your hands on. Youll gradually learn which genres you enjoy reading, and youll begin to make connections between books, as well as to understand how books can connect to your own life. If you dont know where to start, or you find yourself stuck for ideas along the way, find someone who enjoys reading books and ask for recommendations. Likewise, librarians, booksellers, and teachers can help point you in the right direction. Excuse #4: Reading Keeps Me Awake at Night People who love to read often find themselves so engrossed in a book that they stay up practically all night reading. While its not the worst thing in the world, nor is falling asleep while reading, it can make for a groggy morning—and some pretty strange dreams. Try to schedule reading for other times besides bedtime. Read at lunch, or for an hour when you wake up. Or, if you are going to be reading all night, make sure you limit it to those evenings when youre going to be off work the next day. Excuse #5: Cant I Just Watch the Movie? Yes and no. You can watch a movie instead of reading the book on which its based, but quite often, they have very little in common. Case in point: The Wizard of Oz. Almost everyone has seen 1939s classic musical starring Judy Garland as Dorothy, but its a far cry from the original series of L. Frank Baum books on which its based. (Hint: Major elements of plot and important characters never made it to the big screen.) Thats not to say that the movie isnt anything but wonderful, but as someone in Emerald City so aptly pointed out, Its a horse of a different color. There are countless classics that have been turned into movies including Jane Austens Pride and Prejudice, Sir Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock Holmes, Mark Twains The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Jack Londons  Call of the Wild, Lewis Carrolls Alices Adventures in Wonderland,  Agatha Christies Murder on the Orient Express, and J.R.R. Tolkiens The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogy—not to mention that wizardly kid brought to you by the fertile mind of J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter. Go ahead and watch the TV series or the movie version, but if you want to know the real story, read the book on which the movie was based—before you watch it. Excuse #6: Reading is Too Hard Reading isnt always easy, but it doesnt have to be hard. Try not to be intimidated. People read books for many reasons, but you dont have to feel that its an academic experience if you dont want it to be. Entertainment is one of the best reasons for reading. You can pick up a book and have an unforgettable experience: laugh, cry, or sit on the edge of your seat. A book—even a classic—doesnt have to be difficult to be a great read. While you may find that the language in books such as Robinson Crusoe and Gullivers Travels is a bit hard to wrap your head around because they were written so long ago, most readers have no problems with Treasure Island. Its true that many famous authors wrote books that are tough to get through for people who havent studied literature, however, lots of them also wrote things that are much more accessible. For instance, if you want to read something by John Steinbeck but think The Grapes of Wrath is a little out of your league, start out with something like Cannery Row or Travels With Charley: In Search of America instead. Ian Flemings James Bond isnt a tough read, but did you know Fleming also authored the classic childrens book Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? (Which is nothing like the movie!) In fact, many books written for young audiences are great places to start your reading experience. C.S. Lewis Chronicles of Narnia, A.A. Milnes Winnie the Pooh, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach, both by Roald Dahl are books beloved by kids and adults alike. â€Å"I have a passion for teaching kids to become readers, to become comfortable with a book, not daunted. Books shouldn’t be daunting, they should be funny, exciting and wonderful; and learning to be a reader gives a terrific advantage.†Ã¢â‚¬â€œ Roald Dahl Excuse #7: I Just Never Got Into the Habit No? Then make it a habit. Make a point of reading literature on a regular basis. Start with a few minutes a day and make a commitment to continue. It doesnt take much to get into the habit of reading. Once youve got a good start, try reading for longer periods or with a greater frequency. Even if you dont enjoy reading books for yourself, reading a story to your child can be very rewarding. Youll be giving them a great gift which will prepare them for school, for life, and it can also serve as an important bonding experience they will likely remember for the rest of their lives. Need more reasons to read? You can make reading a social experience. Share a poem or a short story with a friend. Join a book club. Being part of a group will give you an incentive to keep reading and the discussions may actually help you gain a better understanding of literature. Its really not that difficult to make books and literature a part of your life. Start with something manageable and work your way up. If you never read War and Peace or Moby Dick, thats fine, too.

Summary of To Kill a Mockingbird Essay - 4096 Words

Summary of To Kill a Mockingbird Mayella testifies next, a reasonably clean nineteen-year- old girl who is obviously terrified. She says that she called Tom Robinson inside the fence that evening and offered him a nickel to break up a dresser for her, and that once he got inside the house he grabbed her and took advantage of her. In Atticus cross-examination, Mayella reveals that she has seven siblings to care for, a drunken father, and no friends. Then Atticus examines her testimony and asks why she didnt put up a better fight, why her screams didnt bring the other children running, and--most importantly--how Tom Robinson managed the crime with a useless left hand, torn apart by a cotton gin when he was a boy. Atticus begs her to†¦show more content†¦Mr. Gilmer goes over Mayellas testimony, accusing Tom of lying about everything. Dill begins to cry and Scout takes him out of the courtroom. Commentary If Bob Ewell is villainous, his daughter is pitiable, and their miserable existence almost allows her to join the novels parade of innocent victims--she, too, is (up to a point) a kind of mockingbird. Lees presentation of Mayella emphasizes her role as victim--her father beats her and possibly molests her, while she takes care of the children and so lacks kind treatment that when Atticus calls her Miss Mayella, she accuses him of making fun of her. She has no friends, and Scout seems justified in thinking that she must have been the loneliest person in the world. Even Atticus pities her. Mayellas victimization is marred by her attempt to become a victimizer, to destroy Tom Robinson in order to cover her shame. We can have no real sympathy for Mayella Ewell--whatever her sufferings, she inflicts worse cruelty on others. Pity must be reserved for Tom Robinson, whose honesty and goodness render him supremely moral. Unlike the Ewells, he is hardworking, honest, and has enough compassion to make the fatal mistake of feeling sorry for Mayella Ewell, a white girl. Romeo And Juliet Influence Essays - Characters In Romeo And Juliet

Romeo And Juliet Influence William Shakespeare, the English poet and playwright of the 16th -17th centuries, is known as the best dramatist in the world. He is also known as the best author who has written in the English language. He has written a lot of great plays and sonnets, which are read and admired by people all over the world. The reason for his popularity is his understanding of people and his ability to create the characters almost mirroring the real life situations, human feelings and behaviors. Shakespeare could understand the human character very deeply, therefore he could create characters beyond the time and place of his plays (The World Book Encyclopedia 17 345). One of his most popular plays is the tragedy Romeo and Juliet, talking about the tragic ending of the young love of two teenagers. It is considered the best play about love in the world. The story takes place in Verona, a city in Italy. Romeo and Juliet are two young teenagers who love each other indeed but can not realize their dreams because their families Montagues and Capulets are in a deadly feud. Romeo and Juliet get secretly married. After the wedding Romeo comes across the Juliets cousin Tybalt, who challenges him to a fight. But Romeo doesnt want to fight his new relative. Instead Romeos friend Mercutio fights Tybalt and gets killed. In revenge Romeo fights and kills Tybalt, for what he is expelled from the city. Meanwhile Juliets father forces her to marry his friend Paris. To escape this terrible situation, she asks Friar Lawrence for help, who gives her a drug that puts her in a deathlike sleep for two days. Romeo hears the bad news about Juliets death before he gets the message sent by Friar Lawrence and rushes to the tomb where Juliet was put. Life has no meaning for him anymore, so he takes a poison and dies near Juliets body. When Juliet awakens from the sleep, she sees her love dead and doesnt want to live anymore, so she stabs herself. Death of the two young lovers make the families understand that they must end their feud (The World Book Encyclopedia 17 358). At that time it was strongly believed that the true love always struck at first sight and in this play Romeo and Juliet fall in love from the first sight (Brian C). Some critics say that the idealized love of Romeo and Juliet is rooted on passionate sexuality. But to Elizabethans sexual desire was not antithetical to romance; it was the essence of romance (Brian C). Romeo and Juliet is based on a poem by an English author Arthur Brooke The Tragical History of Romeus and Juliet ("The World Book Encyclopedia 17" 358). Some critics refer to this as one of the weak points of the play, saying that Shakespeare didnt write many original plots, he found what he was looking for ready in Arthur Brookes poem (Rowse 70). But thinking about the plays interesting plot, the beautiful language full of word-plays, different characters and at last the love theme which is the basic element that makes it so interesting, all these things completely make this and the other weak points and faults found by critics fade out. Many critics have also addressed the language of the play. Artificial language, used a lot in the play, was characteristic for the Elizabethan age ("The World Book Encyclopedia 17" 358). Elizabethans liked those long phrases and fast word-plays, which become simple conversations if retold in modern word interpretation (Brian C). But Shakespeare has used some simple language, characteristic for his later plays, too ("The World Book Encyclopedia 17" 358). Another thing we should keep in mind is that although the script pas been written for the performance, its read and understood easily (Brian C). There are a lot of elements and characteristics in the play that make it popular and successful. One of the points that gets critics attention is that despite the plays Italian setting, the language, customs and attitudes are generally English (Brian C). Another characteristic thing for the Elizabethan age is that there are no sudden and original plot turns. Elizabethans werent so interested in that, how the story was told was more important for them (Brian C). The good rhyming lines are much frequent in the play, which is another positive element (Rowse 68). Music and references to music are also used a lot in the play. In fact, musical elements in this play are greater than in any other

20 Tips for Freshman How to Make It Through During Your Best College Years

20 Tips for Freshman How to Make It Through During Your Best College Years As a freshman, you may be so sure in your powers because you used to be a class president or Prom Queen in your high school. You could also be a member of the honor society. In addition, you could graduate with the highest possible GPA, which is 4.0. At last, a freshman could have been a valedictorian. No matter how hard you tried during your school years, being a college freshman creates many new challenges and obstacles on your way to perfect career. High school success has nothing to do with your higher education. But every freshman has to survive his very first year in college. You should forget about all your high school achievements once you turn a freshman. You begin a new year with a blank page. Of course, if you’re lucky to pass all necessary exams and submit a winning admissions essay along with a cover letter. From one side, you’re absolutely independent and the only one responsible for your further life. On the other side, all the decisions you make on your own, especially when talking about the first academic year, will have an irresistible impact on your further education and career. So, every freshman should be really careful. American College Testing (ACT) reports that  ¼ of college students tend to quit the game before completing the sophomore year. Every freshman feels the pressure too much. 50% of the freshmen who survive fail before getting their target degree. Most of these poor ones try to find a better place to complete their Bachelor degree. Thus, we can say that things are going better with Master’s degrees even though they involve more complicated disciplines. The article we have just written is not written to scare a freshman. Vice versa, we are here to share the secrets of surviving. We will tell you about the things and tips you’ll need during your first educational year at college or university. By the way, these witty hints might also be useful when building your career or even family. The first few weeks of the first academic year in college are very important for each freshman. This time belongs to a complex decision-making process which will predetermine your further development. During this period, a student may even change his mind concerning future career. Try to implement all of these tips during the first half of your initiate year. Each of the advice was tested by the freshman of reputable institutions, so you’d better listen up carefully. Use These Strategies and Hints to Survive Your Freshman Year Explore the area around campus.  From the very first day of your initiate academic year, you have to observe the entire area around your campus. It’s like a tiny town for each freshman. Aren’t you interested in the local infrastructure and your neighbors? Besides, studying the area around gets you prepared for many challenges. Welcome your roommate warmly.  Each roommate is just another freshman. Don’t be afraid of these youngsters – they are just as scared as you might be. These young people tend to have similar experience and emotions. Dedicate some time to study each freshman – who knows how each individual can help you during your first study year. Get the things organized.  Forget about your parents and high school tutors who used to lead you through the years. Every freshman is the only responsible person for his adult life. The parents are too far, and your teachers have all evolved into professors. Right, just like the Pokemon do. The college and university professors simply post the assignments or project all students have to complete and wait for the results. You are the one to save your skin – so stay wise and organized. Find the perfect location for your after-class preparation.  Discover a cozy corn like a library or use your room during the first year to study. Perhaps, you’ll gain other opportunities as the time passes by, but when you’re a freshman, you’re not invited to the rooms of elder guys and loud parties. So, use this time to accumulate new knowledge and experience. Try to attend every first year’s class.  Visit every lecture and take notes. Avoid the temptation. Except for memorizing complicated material to save time later, every freshman will get a vital data necessary for the upcoming tests and exams. We’ll tell you more: during the first college year, most of your exams will contain questions from the in-class quizzes and essays. Mind college requirements and due dates.  Prepare your own first-year schedule. As a freshman, you should study every syllabus by heart. Besides, you should take a look at the calendar much more often than you used to do at your school age. The justification like â€Å"I didn’t know it was due today† won’t work with your college professors. Make arrangements with your professors.  There is nothing to be ashamed of when talking to your professor during the first academic year. It is still better to retrieve information before the exam than doing it after Get to know your counselor.  One of the best advisors is your preferred academic writing service where you can buy custom essays for cheap. If we talk about counselor only, then it should be a person who will consult you on which courses to drop or take, how to organize your after-class meetings, schedule classes for the upcoming terms, choosing majors and minors. Besides, such people can help freshman with choosing his or her first job. It’s all about balance.  Take part in both social and academic occasions. Participate on campus actively.  Every second freshman faces so-called homesickness during the first year in college. Join some club or interest group not to feel lonely. Contribute to your grades.  Forget about your school grades – everything is much more serious at higher educational institutions. Here, every solved essay or in-class quiz counts. Do not ignore study resources on campus.  Perhaps, school library did not seem a reliable place for retrieving information. But college labs and libraries impress. Every freshman should take the best of such places. Dedicate some time to your hobbies.  To reduce the stress and relax, it is crucial to remember about your old hobbies like playing guitar or reading. No more pressure!  Your parents have no more power to decide on your future. If you are not sure in the career you’ve chosen the last year, discover your new opportunities. It may help to change your mind. Take responsibility.  Since your first day in college, you have to learn by your mistakes. Make conclusions and try to avoid falling into the same trap again. Keep in touch with your classmates.  Remember that every another student from your class is also a freshman. He or she won’t make laugh of you. Building stable, friendly connections might play in hand later when the exams come. Get to the Career Services Office.  Talk to real professionals who will help you with your career choice. Don’t procrastinate.  It is crucial to set priorities. Do not postpone any important job until the last minute. Keep in mind that you always need a time for revision. Stay healthy. This point is mostly about nutrition. Also, freshman enjoys alcohol beverages and smoking, but you should stick away from these bad habits. Don’t overwhelm your body with fast food. Learn how to cook elementary meals. Keep away from the dreaded extra â€Å"Freshman 15† pounds by obeying a balanced diet. Keep track of your money. We are not telling you to become a professional accountant, but you have to at least count your cash and allocate all money resources wisely. Let’s say, you can’t spend more than $50 per day if you earn $100. The last advice would be to use only official writing services for freshman and other students from the very first year. Don’t save your money on two things; your health and education. Thus, we recommend buying essays and research papers of high-quality instead of failing your course due to late or poor-quality paper.

TQM in United Airlines Essay The notion of Total Quality Management has paved the way for many businesses to adapt to the ever changing demands of the market. Because of this principle, many large companies such as United Airlines have already involved TQM to back up their goals in maintaining superior customer satisfaction by providing the best product packages and services.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Why does an organization need to implement a customer targeted quality principle? Basically, the answer to this question will only divert in a single approach, to increase profitability. Of course, a business entity needs to strengthen its capacity to maintain a high level of business function. In order to do this, it should have at least a permanent group of client parameters which will support its operations for a long time. For a company, every aspect of its operations in the business primarily depends on how the customers influence its performance in the market share. That is why maintaining a group of customers longer than expected will sustain stability for the organization.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In the aspect of maintaining a customer base, the company should know that it needs to involve the direct approach in satisfying the requests of the customers. It should be able to support the needs of the clients as well as to satisfy their demands for a good service. Apparently, an excellent form of customer satisfaction predicts the level of customer retention a company may achieve (Kotelnikov, 2008). If the customers get quality products and services, then most likely they will have a good relationship with the brand. Thus, the company will get credit for such attention and will be able to strengthen its grip in the market.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Essentially, TQM has long been implemented by companies which are involved in the service sectors. The main reason for this is that business owners know that customer satisfaction can help produce larger profit generations when they are fulfilled with the services they need. Of course, this does not only involve the delivery of services but the functional rendering of quality service. For United Airlines, the value of quality has a direct contribution on the perception of the customers towards how the company projects its image to the commercial market. This ideal has let the air company to implement certain measures that will help it achieve the overall client-based satisfaction for many years of its operations.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   For United Airlines, the company has implemented a strategic TQM principle to make way for full customer satisfaction for its services. Since the organization is involved in the service sector, it has delegated its approach to sustain a better condition of flights to all of its passengers. This goal intends to keep the airline company operate at the maximum levels of quality while capturing a large share of margins in the airline industry segment.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In order to help the company structure its TQM aspect, it has defined a 12-point customer satisfaction system. This format was established to help the organization be reminded of what their primary goal is aside from profitability (United Airlines, 2008). The list contains the most significant approaches that United Airlines can complete for customer satisfaction principles. Lowest Airline Rate – United Airlines’ quality service does not come only in the aspect of direct physical interactions. It also provides an economic fundamental to achieve customer satisfaction. The company offers some of the lowest air fare rates to various destinations. This approach in quality management helps boost the company sales in terms of satisfying the clients about financial considerations. There are also special discounts and privileges for passengers who are going to buy airline tickets in bulk or during holiday seasons. This extends customer service in economical ways. Customer Information – As part of the TQM principle of UA, one very good approach of the company is to send important messages and info about the status of flight schedules. Of course, if something is predicted to become a delaying factor of the operations, then the passengers should be made aware of it in order for them to adjust personal schedules. This will give the clients a perception of reliability and become more confident of the airline’s operations. Baggage Delivery – United Airlines employ the service fundamentals of on time delivery of baggage for optimum customer satisfaction. The airline employs responsible and efficient staffs in order to take care of the passenger’s baggage for scheduled delivery per flight. Baggage Limit – in addition to baggage delivery, the company also provides a fair structure when it comes to identifying baggage limitation principles for each of its passengers. Reservations – The Company provides the option for the customers to have a seat reserved to them or to cancel it. This helps the customer to involve a thorough decision making approach about his trips. Ticket – In cases when seats are requested to be cancelled, the company also provides an option for its passengers to have a ticket refund. This can optimize the trust of the clients to the company as part of the customer satisfaction program. Special Passengers – One of the distinct quality management of United Airlines is its capability to accommodate passengers with varying needs. It is very likely that flight operations will attend to passengers with disabilities. In this aspect, the company has designated facilities and personnel who will cater to the needs of these special clients. Customer Needs – On the part of basic customer needs, the company also employs a service commitment to help passengers get the things they need. A refreshing on flight drink or a very good TV program on board are just some of the customer satisfaction service offerings. Customer Treatment – United Airlines also instructed its personnel to treat denied passengers with optimum respect. They are also provided with the information of the case why such acts are necessary based on the situation. Current Flight Info – The staff of the airline also makes it a point to disclose information about other flight concerns such as cancellation policies, itineraries and technical aircraft configurations. Coordination – The Company also employs the use of coordination techniques for regional operations so that it can easily manage customer service needs in very efficient ways. Since the company is involved in cross-continent operations, it is advantageous for it to have an open communications with airports and air facilities in different countries. This makes it possible for the company to customize its services based on passenger nationalities. Customer Inquiries – One last customer service principle of United Airlines is its direct, simple and timely response to customer questions and inquiries about the operations of the airline. As a matter of fact, it is one of the pioneers in the airline industry which enable their clients to ask questions using different channels such as telephone, internet and mobile phones.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   For a company to maintain its optimal business operations, it should have the necessary capability to address the organization’s needs both internally and externally. In the internal matters, it would be appropriate to select a leadership who can inject principles towards quality management. This does not only involve schemes of profitability immediately in the market scope but should also address the long term possibility of growth.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   For United Airlines, the leadership principles employed by its administration has provided so many advantages for the organization. Because of the formulation of the 12-point customer satisfaction system, the admin was able to capture the true needs of the passengers when it comes to reliable and efficient airline operations. The leaders very well know that having a business in the service sector demands a direct approach towards the impressions of the clients. If they will receive a very good service with all the aspects of quality, then most likely they will get the worth of their money. And if they experience these benefits, then it is not impossible for them to stick with the company as their major airline service provider. In the light of economic recession, Airline customer satisfaction falls while one of the reasons can be attributed to customer satisfaction (Boston, 2008). However, with United Airline’s TQM principle, it is less likely to experience client related dilemmas.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Increasing the capability of the business towards economic strengthening goes beyond effective investment processes. Although it may be important to allocate the funds in the most diversified and profitable ways, the creation of TQM principles will ultimately predict how the organization will sustain long term market presence. In order for the business to flourish exponentially, it should always look at how its major clients will be affected with the use of business principles related to quality. References Boston. 2007.
